[ See, there's hesitation even after the name, like Daniel is considering just letting his thoughts move on entirely and not getting back to the other if Terry does try to reply. But-- ugh. ]

Please tell me you aren't about to do something stupid.

Actually going after someone the way she told us to, of course.

It's insane.

It's insane to ignore someone who has the power of life and death.

Are you frightened? Do you need protection?

I'm not scared.

[ As much as Daniel would like to debate that first notion.. well, it's Daniel. It means of course he first has to reject that idea as quickly as possible. ]

You know I can fight. If someone does come after me, I'll deal with it somehow. As far as I'm concerned, I'm just going to let the person whose name I have know that they don't have to fear anything from me, and then I'll just have to be more careful going around town, depending on who has my name.

[ For a moment there's the instinct to be petulant about this, as there ever is with Terry. To just leave it at that thought.

.. but-- whatever, it's not like it really matters to hold that information over Terry's head, so Daniel just adds: ]

Ah. I wouldn't suggest attacking him, anyway.

[ As in, he assumes Daniel would very easily lose that fight. ]

Of course I wouldn't.

Unlike some people, I have better sense than to attack people who are kind to me.

[ That's not Terry's implication whatsoever and Daniel knows it - but he doesn't care to explore the other's meaning when he can say this instead. ]

The fact that Daniel would interpret it that way all the same coming from him. Even if he would ever mean it sincerely. ]

[ He doesn't add anything else. Not yet. Entirely on purpose, because there's a part of Daniel that feels so weak at Terry's words that he's kind of worried what he might send over if he attempts to think about anything else in this moment. ]
